Because who wouldn’t want to spend money they don’t have on societies’ standards of education for a degree and then career (within a society they didn’t sign up for) that they will later work tirelessly at in an attempt to make back all the money they owe?
Y is a 38 year old Hispanic male currently working at a pressure censoring company in California. Y’s American Dream is to pay the bills and make music. Yet, it’s hard to pay the bills when you are still putting money you make towards loans. Y constantly lives trying to save up and pay off student debt and fears it will forever limit what he can do.
