N is a white, straight, American woman in her 40’s. She is a Spanish professor and is raising her three children as bilingual in Spanish. I asked N what her first experience with the American Dream was. She answered by telling me the story of a family from the Central African that is being housed at her church. Although it isn’t her first experience, it impacted her idea of the American Dream. By sharing this story of the “A” family, we are hearing a story about the American Dream we don’t often hear. The artifact that I am submitting to be graded is a 1-minute teaser of a longer podcast episode about N and her idea of the American Dream.
