I could say goodbye to theatre forever…be straight, work for the business, be a Jehovah’s Witness. Or I could leave the church and have absolutely no plans, other than being gay, and [do] theatre.
It’s so particular.

Men were always in professional settings. They were shown in light of a higher power. Big, muscular, masculine men.
I can’t afford unpaid internships.

Being from a working class family, I couldn’t take unpaid internships during college. It limited my options as well as my connections.
